How to bid on a construction tender

Whatever the buyer, the national rules apply first, and they are checked before your price is looked at:

• CSD registration — a free supplier number from the Central Supplier Database, verified against your bank account and your CIPC registration. How to register on the CSD →

• CIDB grading — construction work is built-environment work, so your grade and class must match the one the tender names. How CIDB grading works →
• The SBD forms in that tender's pack — signed, complete, no blanks. A missing or unsigned form is the single most common reason a first-time bid is thrown out.
