Catering Tenders in South Africa

Catering tenders: 37 open in South Africa right now. Most are in Free State (11), Mpumalanga (8), KwaZulu-Natal (4). Every one is pulled from the National Treasury eTenders system and refreshed daily, so a notice appears here the day it opens. Before you bid you must be registered on the Central Supplier Database and tax compliant with SARS, and this category sets its own returnable documents on top of that.

Catering tenders in South Africa — live government catering contracts
Live catering tenders from South African government departments, municipalities and state-owned companies, updated daily.

Catering tenders are service contracts to feed people at government sites — hospital and clinic patient meals, school nutrition programmes, staff canteens, training-centre and conference catering, and event catering for departments. They rarely need any construction registration, so the barrier is compliance paperwork plus health and food-safety requirements: a valid certificate of acceptability for your premises, and often proof of the kitchen capacity to deliver at the volumes stated. Contracts are frequently multi-year and site-bound, which favours local caterers over national ones.

How to bid on a catering tender

Whatever the buyer, the national rules apply first, and they are checked before your price is looked at:

→ Check if you are tender ready — the full list, and what you are still missing. Or browse all the tender guides.

Each catering tender also sets its own mandatory returnables on top of that national list. Tender Ready SA Pro reads every document and gives you that checklist in plain English.
