Transnet Tenders — open bids and RFQs, updated daily

Transnet has 143 open tenders right now. The work is concentrated in Western Cape (44), KwaZulu-Natal (44), Eastern Cape (16). Every notice below is pulled from the National Treasury eTenders system and refreshed daily, so a notice appears here the day it opens. Before you bid on any of them you must be registered on the Central Supplier Database and tax compliant with SARS — those two are checked before your price is read.

Transnet is the state freight and logistics company: rail, ports and pipelines. Its tenders skew heavily technical and infrastructural — rolling stock, port equipment, terminal works and long-cycle maintenance. Port-side work is often published separately by the Transnet National Ports Authority, so both are pulled into this list.

The Transnet tender bulletin and eTenders, in one place

Looking for the Transnet tender bulletin, or trying to find Transnet on the eTenders portal? This page is that list, without the portal: every Transnet notice published on the National Treasury eTenders system, including RFQs (requests for quotation) for smaller jobs, updated daily. Finding them is the easy half — qualifying to bid is where most suppliers fall over.

How to bid on a Transnet tender

Transnet buys as an organ of state, so the national rules apply: you must be registered on the Central Supplier Database, be tax compliant with SARS, and hold the right CIDB grading for construction work. Those are checked before your price is ever considered.

Every Transnet tender pack contains the same standard bidding documents, and an unsigned or blank one is thrown out before the price is read:

Past the basics, each Transnet tender sets its own mandatory returnables. Tender Ready SA Pro reads every one of them and gives you that checklist in plain English.
